The Tulip Saarinen table is a product sold exclusively by Alivar, a leader in the Made In Italy furniture sector. The Saarinen table is part of a series of pieces of furniture, including coffee tables, whose legs have been replaced by the designer to achieve a visually less confusing result than the traditional table. Looking at it you get the feeling of looking at a single harmonious piece. Saarinen wanted to create an uninterrupted element, created in a single material and moulded, without dividing the different parts that make it up; however, the technology of the time didn't allow this and the project remained partially unfinished. Today, the Saarinen table has a white, lacquered cast aluminium pedestal, while the top has a liquid laminate varnish with bevelled edges.
