Jill Tube Chair – Vitra

The new, unused Vitra Jill chair, designed by Alfredo Häberli in 2011 for Vitra, is inspired by the early days of laminated wood modelling and explores the limits of this technology once again. Using a patented process, the laminated sheets are twisted like a ribbon until they meet each other on the seat. This produces an open, flexible shell in the transition between the seat and the backrest that supports the body in remarkable comfort with a unique and truly beautiful image of the chair in lateral perspective.
