Organic chair – Vitra
980,00 €
Chair in excellent condition, like new. It has wool fabric and a black oak wood frame.
Vitra’s Organic Chair is an iconic design conceived by Charles Eames and Eero Saarinen in 1940 as part of their participation in a competition entitled ‘Organic Design in Home Furnishings’, organised by the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
The Organic Chair is a small, comfortable chair with a sculptural shape and a design ahead of its time. In 1940, due to a lack of suitable manufacturing techniques, the chair never went into production. Only in 1950 was it possible to manufacture and commercialise seat shells in organic shapes in large quantities, as evidenced by the famous Plastic Armchair by Charles and Ray Eames or the Tulip Chair by Saarinen.
Manufactured in 2010’s
