Barcelona style Chair – Steelform
950,00 €
The Barcelona Chair designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and Lilly Reich for the German Pavilion at the 1929 International Exhibition, organised in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain.
The chair was first used in the Villa Tugendhat, a private residence designed by Mies in Brno.
Model produced by Steelform in chrome-plated steel frame with springs, polished. Foam-filled cushion supported by cowhide straps. Upholstered with individual leather panels. This product is made from natural, non-toxic leather from the famous Italian tannery DANI SpA. Ref: Nero – lord 9300 As in the original version, the structure was produced in spring steel, this being the material that Mies van der Rohe selected for his original chair. The gentle oscillating action of the spring steel makes the seat surface of this chair appear to hover.
